Matthew Rideout September 1987 - May 2006

On May 28, 2006, Matthew Rideout died in a motorcycle accident. He was returning to a party with some friends on his motorbike after eating out when he separated from his group to take a different route. His friends didn't realize till 15 minutes after returning to their party that he hadn't arrived. His brother, Micah, called his cellphone and it was answered by a medic in an ambulance. The medic explained that Matthew had been in an accident and told Micah it was pretty serious. Micah called his parents and rushed to the hospital. About a dozen of Matthew's friends went to the hospital as well and were praying for Matthew when the doctor reported that Matthew had died. He had a lot of damage to his head, his liver was severed along with a main artery, and a lung had collapsed.
Please cover the parents and older brother in prayer. More details and a possible word from the parents is forthcoming as plans for the funeral and for family members to fly over are taking place right now.

May God grant you all peace in this time of testing. May the testimonies of those of us touched by Matt's life on earth reach the pain in your heart and serve as a soothing balm. You will really never know how much he meant to us! take care we love you all!
Words cannot express the pain I feel for you. I want all of you to know how much I love you and am praying for you. All I can say is to let God hold you like He is holding Matt. You haven't seen the last of him :)
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family, matthew. I will remember you as a lovely chap. Rest in peace...
I would like to express my ultimate condolence as Matthew was a true friend and I will miss him terribly.
However I will never (ever) forget the time we spent together as friends. Mathew was the best kind of friend one could ever ask for.
His humble nature combined with his unique ability to cheer people up no matter how bad the situation, will be hugely missed.
He was a true friend and I will forever honor the fact he referred to me as his friend.
You are in my thoughts and prayers,
Sincerely,
Robert Bromley
Dear Norm,Debbie and Micah,
I just checked my email today as I am out of town and was shocked and deeply saddened to read of Matthew's accident. I know you know he is with the Lord but I pray comfort and God's grace for each of you. I cannot express in words how my heart feels for all of you - to let go so early of your son and brother. We love you and hold you before the Father. May he surround you with his love and grace now and in the days ahead. Sue for all the Clarks
Though a number of days have passed since we were last with you, you are still in our prayers. I am sure that this seed that died will spring forth to new life. We will continue to think of you and lift you up in our prayers, ever more diligent to share Christ with others.
We love you in Christ,
Tom Silkwood
I'm going to miss you, Stiffy.
You are all still in my thoughts and prayers.
words cannot decribe what a wonderful person and a great friend matthew was

until we meet again......
Mourn the loss of your child; weep from the depths of your grief...there is a time from mourning....oh, but one day, you will be joyous. The Lord is so gracious that you may even see the fruit brought about by your loss. It is the Kingdom that continues...your son is with the Lord. He knows more about heaven and the joys of Jesus than all of us. I pray that you can say 'it is well with my soul' and continue with renewed vigor in the work of the Kingdom.
